PorchLight 7500

The PorchLight appliance coupled with the Front Porch Services (FPS) management system enable providers to communicate directly to the subscriber through their Internet browser, regardless of platform, browser or operating system, and without the need for client software or configuration. The PorchLight appliance is passively installed in a load balancing fashion using simple L2 switching to support a virtually limitless subscriber network. The passive out-of-path installation location excludes it as a network point of failure. This is accomplished by receiving a copy of HTTP packets from a tap, Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) device, switch, or any other device capable of mirroring the packets.
System Integration
Front Porch offers a Software Development Kit (SDK) that enables an Internet provider to easily integrate in-browser delivery of messages triggered by a variety of enterprise systems including billing, usage cap and IDS systems utilizing our Application Programming Interface (API). The Front Porch API inter-operates with existing Business and Operations Support Systems (B/OSS). Data from these systems can be used to initiate automated targeted messages. The kit includes full documentation, supported application types and code samples. Using standard XML based web services architecture and a secure connection, well documented standard interfaces are used to communicate back and forth between the Front Porch system and Internet provider applications.
System Management
Messages to a specific subscriber or large groups of subscribers can be created and scheduled using the Front Porch Services (FPS) management system. FPS provides robust capabilities that allow the Internet provider to deliver customized, targeted messages within minutes. The system provides an intuitive interface that allows for the creation and delivery of content to one, some, or all subscribers with a simple five step process. The FPS system has several wizards that can be used to create groups and configure messages based on a variety of parameters the provider can define.
